Ama Dablam Expedition

Ama Dablam 6812 meters (22349 feet) also known as the Ama Dablam is a small and the most beautiful and popular expedition peak in Nepal. Ama Dablam literally means "Mother's necklace"; it is so named because of its appearance. The long ridge on the either side of the peak seems like arm of a mother that is Ama in Nepali protecting her child and a hanging glacier on its neck seems to appear like Dablam which means a traditional double-pendant containing pictures of the gods, worn by Sherpa women. Ama Dablam was first ascended by a team lead by Sir Edmund Hillary on 13th of March, 1961.
