Mt. Cho Oyu (7,161m.) is the sixth highest Himalayan peak in the world. Mt. Cho Oyu lies in the Khumbu region of Nepal bordering the Tibet and Nepal. Mt. Cho Oyu is the most beautiful Mountain in its range and literally means the “Turquoise Goddess” in Tibetan. Mt. Cho Oyu was conquered for the first time on 19th October, 1954 by a group Australian Expedition Herbert Tichy, Sepp Jocher and Pasang Dawa Sherpa Lama. It is Easier to attempt the peak from the Tibet side because of the fact that the mountain is quiet steep in the Nepal Section whereas in Tibet side it's fairly plain.

For Mt. Cho Oyu expedition you first take a Scenic flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. From Lukla the trekking trail takes you all the way through the awe inspiring natural beauty of the Famous Khumbu region in Nepal until you reach the Base Camp. En route you Pass through terrace middle hills of Nepal, explore local custom and way of life of Himalayan dwellers, explore Buddhists monastery and enjoy the panoramic Himalayan sights of the majestic mountain ranges in the region. En route you take a day rest in Namche Bazzar and Gokyo for Acclimatization and explore the vicinity. From the Base Camp you hike up to the Advance base camp and similarly up to Camp I and Camp II. After being properly acclimatized you finally Attempt the summit of the Peak. The Best season for Mt. Cho Oyu expedition is during spring and autumn.
